Training week

Training week at work = going to work 30 min late and leaving work 30 min early = stress-free week.

It's just 9 pm, and I am already done with dinner and the other daily chores. I also skipped the gym today so that got me 3 hours of "me-time" till bedtime now. So relaxed!

Weekend Happiness :-)

Bright Asters from the grocery store, a few dry twigs from the backyard, an old tumbler from grandma's home, a little inspiration from the florist book and here is what I got:

The globe

The whole of today was spent going in and out of antique stores in search of a globe to be placed on top of our book shelf. We didn't find anything interesting (and within our budget) but had a good afternoon whiling away time and window shopping. :-)

The treasure hunt is still on...

Sunday stroll

So despite my half-hearted efforts to watch my weight, I added on a few pounds this winter. :-(
We joined the gym a few weeks back, and I am determined to lose those pounds (and some more from the previous winter) before summer is here. We've been working out quite regularly and it is a nice feeling to be getting back into shape.

Today we skipped the gym and went out for a walk instead to enjoy the cloudy and slightly breezy weather outside. While T jogged and sprinted some, I just enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon stroll. It was a long 6-mile stroll and I stopped by to smell the roses...

Here are a few pics taken along the walk today (taken from the iphone and edited using www.picmonkey.com):

Orchids

Last summer, I got the white orchids plant while it was blooming. After the flowers withered, I lost interest in the plant and kept it at the far edge of the window cause I dint feel like throwing the pot away and I watered it here and there as I got time.

Last week, my aunt sent me a pic of her mini orchids garden at her office and it was lovely to see colorful and forever blooming flowers in her garden. Coincidentally, I saw some new buds on my plant in the same week too! I never knew that orchids are such low-maintenance plants. I now have a new found love (and patience) for these plants.
Can't wait for the buds to bloom....
